Yesterday's New York Times published an article detailing the elements of the study.
This new study, published in The Archives of Internal Medicine, followed 200 people for 6 months.Patients took a 75-minute yoga class and did daily yoga exercises on their own.
“Compared with self-care, yoga and stretching class participants were significantly more likely to rate their back pain as better, much better or completely gone at all follow-up times,” the study noted.
“More participants in the yoga and stretching groups were very satisfied with their overall care for back pain."
